PRODUCERS’ PRICE INDICES OF AGRICULTURAL, FORESTRY AND FISHING

PRODUCTS, JULY 2009

In July 2009, as compared to June 2009, the prices of the total purchase and sale decreased by 5.8% on the average. As compared to July 2008, that is, at the annual level, they decreased by 18.7%.

In July 2009, as compared to June 2009, the prices of purchase and sale of agricultural products decreased by 5.3% on the average. As compared to July 2008, that is, at the annual level, they decreased by 20.1%.

In July 2009, as compared to June 2009, the prices of purchase and sale of forestry products decreased by 8.1% on the average. As compared to July 2008, that is, at the annual level, they decreased by 13.1%.

In July 2009, as compared to June 2009, the prices of purchase and sale of fishing products decreased by 8.7% on the average. As compared to July 2008, that is, at the annual level, they decreased by 1.4%.

NOTES ON METHODOLOGY

Prices of agricultural, forestry and fishing products are monitored and calculated for products that legal entities sell from own production as well as for agricultural, forestry and fishing products purchased from private family farms.

Since January 2002 weights have represented a structure of a three-year average of the sale and purchase value in 1999, 2000 and 2001.

For the sake of comparability of price indices of agricultural products with previous years, the purchase and sale of agricultural products and that of fishing products are presented separately.

Moreover, agriculture and forestry, which are classified into the same section of the NKD 2002. (NN, No. 13/03) and for which prices have been monitored since January 2002, are also presented separately.
