Monthly and cumulative building material price indices for the period from 2005 to 2009 are published in table 1. Annual chain indices for the period from 1979 to 2008 are presented in table 2.
For a better understanding of the use of the indices in question, notes on methodology concerning the calculation of producers’ building material price indices are given at the back of the First Release.

NOTES ON METHODOLOGY
Producers' building material index is created and defined by the list of representative products introduced in the C-41 Statistical Survey, which was conducted in order to monitor all producers' prices of representative industrial products. In 2009, these prices were given a new structure according to which products and producers were selected. The list of building material price indices contains 179 products produced in the Republic of Croatia by 145 producers (reporting units). These producers are the main providers of the monthly data on producers' selling prices (home sales) of the items from the list.
This index is calculated using the weighting method which has been defined by the structure (the share of individual products) of the total sale for the mentioned products, obtained through the Annual Report of Industry Statistics (IND-21 form).
Building materials manufactured outside the Republic of Croatia are not included in this index.
Material price index does not represent the price index of the total building service because it excludes the prices of equipment, labour and other elements from the price structure of the building service.
