NOTES ON METHODOLOGY

Source and methods of data collection

Data on public bathing places in 2008 were collected through the reporting method on the form - Report on Public Bathing Places (KOM-7).

Business entities running public bathing places were used as reporting units.

This statistical survey has been conducted every forth year.

Coverage and comparability

The survey covers only urban settlements with 5 000 and more inhabitants according to the 2001 Census, with the exception of Krapina which was included as the largest urban settlement in County of Krapina-Zagorje.

Definition

Public bathing place is a bathing place allowing the use of the facility to all who buy the tickets.

Number of bathers is the number of persons who were using the bath and payed for this service by buying a ticket or paying a renting fee for the swimming pools (sports, recreation, education).

Number of changing rooms covers the number od racks (clothes storage units) in the common changing room and the number of changing lockers.

Thermal mineral water is the water with mineral value over 1 g and temperature over 20°C.

Tables 2 and 3 present only counties in which there are public bathing places.
