PERSONS IN EMPLOYMENT IN CRAFTS AND TRADES AND FREE LANCES

FIRST QUARTER OF 2009

 

Since January 2009, data have been presented according to the National Classification of Activities – NKD 2007. (NN, Nos. 58/07 and 72/07). Information on the application of the new classification is given in the Notes on Methodology at the end of this Release.

 

In March 2009, as compared to February of the same year, the number of persons in employment in crafts and trades and free lances decreased by 0.4%, out of which the number of women by 0.3%.

 

The increase in the number of persons in employment was recorded in only seven activities, ranging between 0.2% ( Administrative and support service activities) and 3.5% (Education).

 

In all other activities there was a decrease recorded, ranging between 0.2% in Human health and social work activities, hunting and forestry and 2.1% in Mining and quarrying.

 

The comparison of the number of persons in employment by counties showed that it increased in only three counties: in the County of Split-Dalmatia by 0.2% , in the County of Lika-Senj by 0.3% and in the County of Virovitica-Podravina by 1.7%, while in all other counties there was a decrease recorded, ranging between 0.1% in the County of Istria and  3.2% in the County of Primorje-Gorski kotar

 

The number of persons in employment in the County of Koprivnica-Križevci remained at the same level as in February.
