Welcome to the Croatian Bureau of Statistics internet pages.
The Croatian Bureau of
Statistics (CBS) is a state administrative organisation, central
authority, principal producer, disseminator and coordinator of the
official statistics system of the Republic of Croatia.
Official statistics provide to the government, to the economy and to the
public, on an impartial basis, data on economic, demographic, social and
environmental situation and on activities or events that can be measured
by using statistical methods. It also ensures that the international
obligations of the Republic of Croatia regarding the exchange of
statistical data with other countries and international organisations
are fulfilled.
In line with the European Statistics Code of Practice, it is our aim to
improve the trust and confidence in the independence, integrity and
accountability of CBS as well as in the credibility and quality of the
statistics we produce and disseminate. We are promoting the application
of the best international statistical principles, methods and practices
in order to provide the production and dissemination of representative,
reliable and internationally comparable statistical data.
A high level of harmonisation of the Croatian statistical system with
the European one has been confirmed by fulfilling all the requirements
given in the negotiation process regarding Chapter 18 – Statistics.
