Quarterly Gross Domestic Product estimate

- the real Gross Domestic Product for the
third quarter of 2009 is by 5,7% lower
than in the same period of 2008

- based on the quarterly estimates,
   the annual GDP for the year 2008
   showed an increase of 2,4%,
   as compared to the year 2007

Quarterly Gross Domestic Product for Fourth Quarter of 2009 - Flash Estimate
- According to the flash estimate the quarterly gross domestic product for the fourth
quarter of 2009 decreased in the real terms by 4,4% as compared to the same quarter of 2008.
- According to the flash estimate gross domestic product decreased in real terms by 5,8% in 2009,
compared to 2008.

One of the goals behind the process of harmonising the official statistics of the Republic of Croatia with the EU statistics is to shorten the deadlines for the calculation of the quarterly gross domestic product and the earlier publication of the first results of the calculation of the quarterly gross domestic product.

The quarterly gross domestic product estimate for the fourth quarter of 2009 shall be published in the First Release of the Central Bureau of Statistics, No 12.1.1/4., on 26 March 2010, in printed form and on the CBS’s website.
