MUSEUMS, GALLERIES AND COLLECTIONS IN 2009

Za 2009. obrada statističkih izvještaja odnosi se na 175 muzeja i muzejskih zbirki, 45 galerija i 31 zbirku. Tijekom 2009. otvorena za javnost bila su 164 muzeja i muzejske zbirke, što čini 93,7% od ukupnog broja i 28 zbirki, što je 90,3% od ukupnog broja zbirki.	Statistical reports in 2009 refer to 175 museums and museum collections, 45 galleries and 31 collections. During 2009, 164 museums and museum collections, which made 93.7% of the total number, and 28 collections, which made 90.3% of the total number of collections, were open to public.
Tijekom 2009. broj posjetitelja stalnom postavu muzeja povećao se za 30,9% u odnosu na 2006. i iznosio je 2 191 189, a 384 808 posjetitelja bilo je u posjetu galerijama i zbirkama.	During 2009, as compared to 2006, the number of visitors to the permanent display in museums increased by 30.9% and amounted to 2 191 189, while galleries and collections were visited by the total of 384 808 visitors.
Ukupna naklada prospekata, kataloga, stručnih publikacija i sl. koje izdaju muzeji i muzejske zbirke manja je za 22,9% u odnosu na 2006.	The total circulation of brochures, catalogues, expert publications etc., edited by museums and museum collections, increased by 22.9%, as compared to 2006.
Ukupan broj zaposlenih u muzejima i muzejskim zbirkama veći je za 11,6% u odnosu na 2006. Udio žena u ukupnom broju zaposlenih je 64,3% i nije se mijenjao u odnosu na 2006.	The total number of persons employed in museums and museum collections increased by 11.6%, as compared to 2006. The share of women in the total number of persons in employment was 64.3%, which means that it was not changed compared to 2006.

Izvor i metoda prikupljanja podataka		Sources and methods of data collection
Podaci su rezultat statističke obrade godišnjih izvještaja koji se prikupljaju na Izvještaju muzeja i muzejskih zbirki (obrazac MZ-1), koje dostavljaju muzeji i muzejske zbirke koje imaju muzejsku građu, na Izvještaju zbirki (obrazac MZ-2), koji dostavljaju zbirke, i na Izvještaju galerija (obrazac MZ-3), koji dostavljaju sve samostalne galerije i galerije u sklopu ustanova koje zadovoljavaju propisane kriterije.		Data given here are obtained from annual reports that are collected on the Report on Museums and Museum Collections (MZ-1 form), which is submitted by museums and museum collections that keep museum materials, on the Report on Museum Collections (MZ-2 form), which is submitted by collections as well as on the Report on Galleries (MZ-3), which is submitted by all self-contained galleries and galleries that are parts of institutions, which meet prescribed criteria.
Istraživanje se provodi svake treće godine.		The survey is carried out every third year.
Obuhvat i usporedivost		Coverage and comparability
Istraživanjem su obuhvaćeni muzeji i muzejske zbirke u Republici Hrvatskoj bez obzira na to izlažu li predmete i jesu li otvoreni za javnost. Obuhvaćene su i zbirke i  galerije koje su bile otvorene za javnost u protekloj godini. Podaci su usporedivi s podacima iz prethodnih godina.		The survey covers museums and museum collections in the Republic of Croatia, irrespective of whether they exhibit items or not or whether they are open to public or not. It also covers collections and galleries that were open to public in the previous year. Data are comparable to those given for previous years.
Definicije i objašnjenja		Definitions and explanations
Djelatnost muzeja i zbirki jest sustavno prikupljanje, evidentiranje, čuvanje, stručna zaštita, znanstvena obrada i prezentiranje muzejskih predmeta i druge građe na stalnim, povremenim i pokretnim izložbama. Također obuhvaća promicanje muzejske struke i suradnju s muzejskim i drugim kulturnim i znanstvenim ustanovama i institucijama u zemlji i inozemstvu.		The activity of museums and museum collections include systematic collection, recording, keeping, expert protection, scientific processing and presenting of museum items and other material at permanent displays, occasional and mobile exhibitions. It also comprises the promotion of the museum profession and collaboration with other cultural and scientific institutes and institutions in the country and abroad.
Muzej i muzejska zbirka jest neprofitna, trajna ustanova u službi društva, otvorena javnosti, koja skuplja, čuva, istražuje, komunicira i izlaže materijalna i svjedočanstva čovjeka i njegove okoline radi proučavanja, obrazovanja i užitka.		Museum and museum collection is a non-profit, permanent institution in the service of society, open to public, which collects, keeps, explores, communicate and exhibits museum materials and testimonies of man and his environment in order to teach, educate and render pleasure.
Umjetničke galerije koje imaju muzejsku građu obrađuju se kao umjetnički muzeji.		Art galleries disposing of museum materials are processed as art museums.
Muzejska djelatnost obavlja se u zatvorenim i otvorenim prostorima.		Museum activities are carried out in indoor and outdoor spaces.
Galerija je izložbeni prostor čija je osnovna djelatnost organiziranje izložbi umjetničkih predmeta.		Gallery is an exhibition place with the main activity of organising exhibitions of artistic items.
Zbirka je skup predmeta iz različitih područja znanosti i umjetnosti, bez obzira na to jesu li samostalne ili se nalaze pri nekoj ustanovi/poduzeću ili su u privatnom vlasništvu. Osnovni im je zadatak da prikupljaju i izlažu predmete.		Collection is a set of items gathered from various scientific and artistic fields, irrespective of whether they are self-contained, or a constituent part of an institution/enterprise, or are a private property. Their main role is to collect and exhibit items.
Ekvivalent pune zaposlenosti iskazuje se u čovjek/godinama, a predstavlja vrijeme koje je zaposleni radio kao udio punoga radnog vremena. Npr. ako je osoba radila samo 3 mjeseca, to se prikazuje kao FTE = 3/12 = 0,25. Zaposleni s punim radnim vremenom imaju FTE = 1.		Full time equivalent is expressed in man/years. It represents a part of time that a person in employment spent at a full-time work. For instance, if a person worked for only three months, it is expressed as FTE = 3/12 = 0.25. Full-time persons in employment have FTE = 1.

Stručni: restaurator, informatičar, dokumentarist, diplomirani knjižničar, arhivist i drugi stručnjaci.		Expert: restorer, IT technician, documentarian, graduated librarian, archivist and other experts.
Pomoćni stručni: preparator, viši preparator, muzejski tehničar, viši muzejski tehničar, pomoćni knjižničar, knjižničar, arhivski tehničar, viši arhivski tehničar, fotograf i viši fotograf.		Expert assistants: preparator, senior preparator, museum technician, senior museum technician, assistant librarian, librarian, archival technician, senior archival technician, photographer and senior photographer.
Ostali: administrativni i pomoćni zaposlenici.		Other: administrative and auxiliary employees.
