U 2011. završeno je 6 777 zgrada. Od toga je 80,7% stambenih zgrada i 19,3% nestambenih zgrada.	in 2011, there were 6 777 buildings completed, of which 80.7% were residential and 19.3% non-residential ones.
Površina završenih zgrada iznosila je 2 660 604 m^2, što je za 20,6% manje nego u 2010.	The floor area of completed buildings was 2 660 604 m^2, which was by 20.6% less than in 2010.
Ukupno je završeno 12 390 novih stanova s prosječnom korisnom površinom od 90,4 m^2.	There were 12 390 new dwellings completed with the average useful floor area of 90.4 m^2.
Prema vrsti radova, pretežan broj stanova (92,0%) sagrađen je kao novogradnja (uključujući obnovu teško oštećenih stanova u ratu i dr.), 7,3% dogradnjom/nadogradnjom postojećih zgrada, a 0,7% prenamjenom nestambenog prostora u stan.	By type of works, the greatest number of dwellings (92.0%) was built as new constructions (including renewals of dwellings heavily damaged in the war etc.), 7.3% as additions (extensions) on existing buildings and 0.7% as conversions of a non-residential space into a residential one.

U ovom priopćenju iskazani su podaci prikupljeni Godišnjim izvještajem o završenim zgradama i stanovima (obrazac GRAĐ-10). Taj izvještaj ispunjavaju popisivači na temelju obilaska područja županije u tijeku kojega se utvrđuje koje su zgrade i stanovi završeni u izvještajnoj godini. Popis se obavlja preko nadležnih upravnih tijela županija, velikih gradova, gradova sjedišta županija i Grada Zagreba (u nastavku teksta: nadležno upravno tijelo) ovlaštenih za izdavanje akata na temelju kojih se može graditi. Osnova za obilazak terena jest adresar sastavljen na temelju podataka o izdanim odobrenjima za građenje zgrada.		Data presented in this publication are collected using the Annual Report on Completed Buildings and Dwellings (GRAĐ-10 form). This report is filled in by enumerators on the basis of their visits to counties. In the course of these visits, they define which buildings and dwellings were completed in the reporting year. The census is conducted through services in competent administration offices in counties, major cities and county seats as well as the administrative body of the City of Zagreb authorised for issuing documents by which the construction is approved. Visits are based on an address book made up from data on building permits issued for buildings.

Do 2002. podaci o ukupnom broju završenih zgrada i stanova prikupljali su se iz dvaju izvora: podataka o gradnji u režiji privatnih vlasnika na temelju dokumentacije mjerodavnih tijela graditeljstva u županijama i dokumentacije izvođača radova (pravnih osoba) s pet i više zaposlenih. Zbog sve slabije metodološke usklađenosti i mogućnosti kontrole obuhvata iz različitih izvora podataka, novo istraživanje uvedeno je prvi put za 2002., kojim se svi podaci o završenim zgradama i stanovima prate iz jednog izvora, odnosno prema istoj metodologiji.		Until 2002, data on total number of completed buildings and dwellings were collected from two sources: data on construction in private ownership based on records kept by bodies competent for construction in counties and records kept by contractors (legal entities) employing 5 or more persons. Due to the decreasing compatibility and difficulties in the control of coverage from different sources, a new report was introduced in 2002, which enables the monitoring of all data on completed buildings and dwellings from one source and using the same methodology.
Podaci o vrstama građevina i radova razvrstani su prema Nacionalnoj klasifikaciji vrsta građevina – NKVG (Metodološke upute br. 41, ISBN 953-6667-33-9, Državni zavod za statistiku, 2002.). U ovom priopćenju objavljeni su na troznamenkastoj šifrarskoj razini. Ta klasifikacija usklađena je s klasifikacijom koju propisuje Statistički ured Europske unije (Classification of Types of Constructions – CC, final version, Eurostat 1997).		Data on types of constructions and works are classified according to the National Classification of Types of Constructions – NKVG (Methodological Guidelines No. 41, ISBN 953-6667-33-9, CBS, 2002). In this first release they are processed at the 3-digit code level. This Classification is harmonised with the classification recommended by the Statistical Office of the European Communities (Classification of Types of Constructions – CC, final version, Eurostat 1997).
Podaci o stanovima prikupljeni su prema metodologiji koja se primjenjuje u popisima stanovništva, kućanstava i stanova te je usklađena s Preporukama Konferencije europskih statističara za popise stanovništva i stanova 2010. godine, UNECE/Eurostat, Ujedinjeni narodi, New York i Ženeva, 2006. (Conference of European Statisticians Recommendations for the 2010 Censuses of Population and Housing, UNECE/Eurostat, UN, New York and Geneva, 2006).		Data on dwellings were collected according to the methodology applied in the censuses of population, households and dwellings, which are harmonised with the Recommendations of the Conference of European Statisticians for the 2010 Censuses of Population and Housing, UNECE/Eurostat, UN, New York and Geneva, 2006.
Definicije		Definitions
Zgrade su stalne građevine koje imaju krovište i vanjske zidove. Sagrađene su kao samostalne uporabne cjeline koje pružaju zaštitu od vremenskih i drugih vanjskih utjecaja, a namijenjene su stanovanju, obavljanju neke djelatnosti ili smještaju i čuvanju životinja, robe, opreme za različite proizvodne i uslužne djelatnosti itd.		Buildings are permanent constructions covered with roof and closed with outer walls. They are built as separate useful units that protect from weather and other conditions, intended for dwelling, performing a certain activity or for placing and up-keeping of animals, goods, equipment used in various industrial activities and services etc.
U ovom istraživanju zgradama se smatraju i građevine koje imaju krov, ali nemaju (sve) zidove (npr. nadstrešnice za vozila i na skladišnim prostorima) te građevine koje su pretežno ili potpuno smještene ispod površine zemlje (npr. skloništa, podzemne garaže, prodavaonice i drugi poslovni prostori u pothodnicima).		In this survey buildings are also constructions covered with roof but without (some of) the walls (e.g. porches for vehicles, storage places) and underground constructions (e.g. underground shelters, underground garages, underground shopping centres).
Stambene zgrade jesu građevine u kojima je 50% ili više ukupne korisne podne površine zgrade namijenjeno za stambene svrhe.		Residential buildings are constructions in which 50% or more of useful floor area is intended for dwelling purposes.
Nestambene zgrade jesu građevine koje nemaju stambene površine ili je manje od 50% ukupne korisne podne površine zgrade namijenjeno za stambene svrhe.		Non-residential buildings are constructions without dwelling area, in which less than 50% of the overall useful floor area is used for dwelling purposes.
površina zgrade jest zbroj površina svih etaža u zgradi koje su obuhvaćene vanjskim zidovima.		Floor area of buildings is a sum total of the area of all floors of the building placed inside the outer walls.
Volumen zgrade jest zbroj volumena svih natkrivenih dijelova zgrade, uključujući vanjske zidove.		Volume of building is sum total of volumes of all roofed over space of the building, including outer walls.
Novogradnja je gradnja nove građevine na mjestu gdje prije nije bilo nikakve građevine ili je postojala, ali je uklonjena.		New construction is a newly-built structure built on a location where no structure existed or on a location previously cleared by demolition.
Novogradnjom se smatra i ponovna gradnja od temelja onih zgrada koje su potpuno srušene zbog ratnih razaranja ili su bile toliko oštećene da su se morale potpuno srušiti.		Construction of new buildings also means building from the foundations of buildings that were completely demolished in war or were so dilapidated that they had to be demolished.
Dogradnja i nadogradnja jesu građevinski radovi kojima se dobivaju nove uporabne cjeline uz ili na postojećim građevinama, npr. potpuno novi stan ili poslovni prostor.		Additions and extensions are construction works that result in new usable units, or in addition to an existing construction, for example, a completely new dwelling or business premise.
Ne obuhvaćaju se proširenja postojećih građevina, odnosno uporabnih cjelina, npr. dogradnja pojedinih soba u postojećem stanu ili poslovnom prostoru.		Extensions of existing constructions or usable utilities, such as an additional construction of rooms in an existing dwelling or in a business premise are not included.
Prenamjena nestambenog prostora u nove stanove jesu građevinski radovi kojima se postojeći prostor u zgradi (npr. tavanski ili podrumski prostor koji dotada nije bio uređen za stanovanje, garaže, prostor u kojem se obavljala neka proizvodna ili uslužna djelatnost) prenamjenjuje u jedan ili više stanova.		Conversions of non-residential areas into new dwellings are construction works by which an existing area in building (e.g. attic or cellar area, which was not until then put in order for residence, garage, area where production or service activity is performed) is conversed into one or more dwellings.
Stan je građevinski povezana cjelina namijenjena stanovanju koja se sastoji od jedne ili više soba s pomoćnim prostorijama (kuhinja, smočnica, kupaonica, zahod) ili bez pomoćnih prostorija i koja ima svoj zaseban ulaz izravno s hodnika, stubišta, dvorišta ili ulice.		Dwelling is a residential construction unit consisting of one or more rooms and auxiliary spaces (kitchen, pantry, bathroom, toilet) or without them and with separate entrances from the passage, staircase, yard or street.
Korisna površina stana jest podna površina stana mjerena unutar zidova stana.		Useful floor area of a dwelling is a floor area of the dwelling, measured inside the walls of the dwelling.
Stan ima instalacije vodovoda ili centralnoga grijanja ako najmanje u jednoj prostoriji u stanu postoje odgovarajuće instalacije bez obzira na to jesu li vezane za javnu komunalnu mrežu ili neke druge građevine.		A dwelling has an installation for water supply or central heating when at least one room in the dwelling has those installations, no matter whether or not they are connected to the public utility network or some other facilities.
Stan ima kupaonicu ako ima posebnu prostoriju u kojoj se nalazi kada ili tuš i u kojoj su uvedene instalacije vodovoda i kanalizacije bez obzira na to jesu li te instalacije već povezane s javnom ili kućnom mrežom ili nisu.		A dwelling has a bathroom when there is a separate room with a bath or shower, including all installations needed for a water supply and a sewage system, irrespective of whether they are connected to a public or a house network or not.
Stan ima zahod ako se on nalazi unutar stana u posebnoj prostoriji ili u kupaonici.		A dwelling has a toilet when it is inside of a dwelling, in a separate room or in a bathroom.
Stanovi za stalno stanovanje jesu stanovi namijenjeni stalnom stanovanju jednog ili više kućanstava i/ili drugih osoba koje u njima privremeno stanuju radi rada, školovanja i sl.		Dwellings for permanent residence are dwellings designed for permanent residence of one or more households and/or other persons who temporarily occupy them for work, schooling and other purposes.
Stanovi za odmor u svemu odgovaraju definiciji stana, a namijenjeni su povremenoj uporabi isključivo za odmor i rekreaciju vlasnika.		Dwellings for vacation can be defined as conventional dwellings temporarily used only for vacation and recreation of their owners.
U ovom istraživanju način uporabe stana određen je na temelju raspoloživih podataka iz dokumentacije potrebne za izdavanje odobrenja za građenje, odnosno prema podacima koji su se mogli utvrditi pri popisivanju završenog stana. Način uporabe može se mijenjati nekoliko puta u tijeku (građevinskog) trajanja stana, ovisno o potrebama investitora, odnosno (novih) vlasnika. Detaljniji podaci o načinu uporabe stambenog fonda mogu se prikupiti samo u popisima stanovništva i stanova.		In this survey, the manner of usage of a dwelling is determined on the basis of available data in documents needed for building permits, respectively according data that were possible to be determined on the occasion of enumerating a completed dwelling. It may be changed several times during the life of the dwelling, depending on investor’s needs, respectively (new) owners. Detailed data on the manner of the housing fund usage may be collected only in censuses of population and dwellings.
