TOURIST ARRIVALS AND NIGHTS IN COMMERCIAL ACCOMMODATION ESTABLISHMENTS, SEPTEMBER 2020

In September 2020, there were 77.5% less tourist arrivals and 69.8% less tourist nights in commercial accommodation establishments than in September of the previous year; therefore, it is noticeable that the intensity of the pandemic caused by the coronavirus started to increase. Commercial accommodation establishments thus recorded 488 thousand arrivals and 3.1 million tourist nights in the last summer month of 2020.

Concerning the structure of total tourist nights, domestic tourists realised 13.1% and foreign tourists 86.9% of tourist nights. Domestic tourists realised 3.1 nights and foreign tourists 7.7 nights per arrival on average.

In September 2020, domestic tourists realised 133 thousand arrivals and 409 thousand nights, which was 24.1% less tourist arrivals and 18.9% less tourist nights than in September 2019. Foreign tourists realised 355 thousand arrivals and 2.7 million nights, which was 82.2% less arrivals and 72.5% less nights than in the same month of 2019.

The most foreign tourist nights were realised by tourists from Germany (1.2 million nights, or 43.7% of the total realised foreign tourist nights) and by tourists from Poland (448 thousand nights, or 16.5% of the total realised foreign tourist nights).
